Nang Eye Episode 2 Recap

Back in the dormitory, the other girls warned Nang about receiving a punishment she will never forget. Nang had a nightmare where she was forced to climb up and down a tall tree while Sai and gang watched, and cleaned a shelf while Sai and gang dirtied it after her. Awaking from her nightmare, the girls were saying their morning English prayers under the sternest Madam Frances' supervision. As Madam Frances caught Nang mumbling along, Nang rattled a series of Thai as she was unfamiliar with prayers. Nang was told to read a thick book by evening while helping with the work in the canteen.

Tip was called in to give Nang a lecture as he is in charge of the Thai students' discipline. Of the years he had been there, he had never seen someone going out during rest time. As Nang 'explained' to a frustrated Tip how she climbed up the wall while Tip was attempting lecturing her on the proper ways of a female student, Nang's mother walked in on the conversation. Mum had been on her way to visit Nang before she returned to Thailand. Tip watched as Nang cried to mum how much she wished to return home. Mum explained that dad and her had not send Nang here because she misbehaved, but rather, they wanted her to receive the best education. Tip started to see the other side of Nang, instead of a mischievous troublemaker, she is a young girl missing home and having problem adapting.
Mum made a visit to Tip's residence as his chef Bale served up a full tea with sandwiches, macaroons, fruits and multiple choices of tea brewed impeccably. Tip was brought up with the etiquette and manners of an English gentleman. Mum commented that Tip's future wife would have to be ladylike and outstanding, quite the opposite of Nang if I may add. Mum requested that Tip help her to look after Nang, who has never been away from home, setting up the stage for the Consul to pay particular attention to Nang. Nang had always been close to her father. By having Tip to discipline and guide her like an elder brother, mum hopes Nang would feel more at home.
Tip sent snacks to the school on behalf of Consul Yai's birthday, taking the opportunity to find out what kind of person Nang is. Nang was punished and not allowed to have the snacks. As Sai and gang showed off how tasty the cake was, Nang tricked Sai into throwing hers away. Just as Nang was about to get a bite, she was once again caught by Madam Frances who served her and Si fifty lunge jumps each. As Nang tried to argue that she was the only one at fault, Madam Frances doubled the punishment. While Sai and gang were mocking Nang and Si behind their backs, Tip who happened to be nearby spoke up for them. Si who was weaker could not finished the jumps, to which Nang offered to finish for Si. All the time, Compun was watching from the other side of the fence. This guy obviously has a crush on Nang.
At night, Nang was starving from the lack of food all day. Madam Teresa, the kind teacher who has never punished anyone, sneaked Nang a bottle of milk. Before she could drink it back in her room, the bottle rolled right to the feet of Madam Frances who was going on her rounds. Starving, Nang sneaked to the only place she knew: Tip's residence. Just when she was getting a bite of bread, Tip busted into the kitchen. Tip lectured Nang on stealing food as Nang rebutted that both Tip and mum had mentioned that she could look for him should she require any help. Just then, Bale approached the kitchen. Tip quickly told Nang to hide, as he hid beside her in panic, only to be reminded by Nang after Bale left, that he had no need to hide. Lol
Tip boiled pop mie for Nang, which he tried to get Nang to use a bowl and proper utensils to eat. Nang rejected, saying eating and drinking soup from the cup is the feel. All the while, Tip looked as if he could hardly accept how "improper" this is. When Nang asked for water, he insisted on pouring the bottled water into a glass. Our proper, mannered and slightly stiff consul haha. Tip and Nang had a small argument on the importance of rules before Nang had to hide again, as Bale came in with the news that an important call had come for Tip. Tip tried to direct Bale out, claiming that the kitchen phone was spoiled and stopping Bale from clearing the cup noodles. Bale observed that Tip usually only drinks milk after dinner, to which Tip claimed he was hungry. Thinking that Bale had left, Tip spoke to the air with intention to Nang, to leave after having her fill. Bale turned around puzzled, apologizing. So embarrassing, Tip. Lol. As Nang sneaked back to the dormitory, she left a note thanking "uncle" for the meal.

Compun's friend Chris was beaten up by Georgetown's bullies Peter and David when he refused to help them buy alcohol. As the boys got into a fight, Chaipong dropped by and successfully helped them. Chaipong teased Compun about practicing his pose on the motorcycle to impress Nang while Compun teased Chaipong about never having had a girlfriend at his age.
Back in class, Sai offered to hand in the completed homework to the teacher for the other girls, but refused to help Nang. In return, Nang offered to hand in all the homework. Sai and gang shocked Nang into dropping the scripts onto the dirty wet floor. The girls were unhappy that they had to redo the papers as a result.

At Georgetown Academy, the boys were lectured on getting into a fight. The discipline master (I guess) warned that they would get expelled should this happen again, and told the boys to show friendliness. On the way out of the office, Peter tried to pick another fight by calling Compun and Chris a loser. As reckless Compun and Peter were about to get into a fight, Compun's friend faked that a teacher was coming, successfully scaring the bullies away. Compared to Compun and bullies who prefer to use fists, at least Chris knows the stupidity of using fists, preferring wits instead.
In the school library, Sai and gang created another scene, pushing books off the shelf while Nang passed by. In return, Nang pretended to mock a person named Saisede (umbilical cord) with Si, calling Saisede dark and slimy, and enjoying bullying others. Sai jumped to the bait and got into an argument with Nang, earning them all an hour's standing with hands held to their sides and a ruler in their mouths.

Madam Audrea made Nang rewrite the letter to her parents, getting rid of the complaints. Madam Audrea assured Nang that she would adapt and grow to love the school soon, that every Thai student started out like her. In the end, they would want to send their children to the school. Nang rebutted that she would not have any children, she will be a nun. Lol.

Under senior Janya's introduction, Nang befriended wheelchair bound Maria. Maria has low self confidence due to her disability, and was often excluded from physical activities. Nang made opportunity for Maria to join the captain's ball game on the same team as her and Sai's gang. At first, Sai was visibly unhappy and unaccomodating to Maria. Sai and gang had always bullied Maria for her disability. Maria did not wish to pull the team back as well. With Nang's encouragement, Maria gained confidence and the team won the game with their teamwork. The physical activities teacher took the opportunity to pass on the idea that more than victory, sportsmanship is important. Maria told Nang that she had never played ball before and she was the happiest person in the world.
In English class, Joycam, Nang, Sai and Si tried to make fun of each other when they were told to make sentences out of the words "hypocrites", "politician" and "brag". Sai's father is a famous politician in Thailand, probably why the other students gave in to her bullying. After class, Madam Frances told Sai, Si and Nang to stay behind, telling them that as Thai students, they should stay together rather than having such feuds with one another. She reminded them that God is the highest being there, and that he teaches them to be united, not to fight. The other students were curious that Nang was the first who dared to stand up against Sai, while Nang was curious why nobody dared to speak against Sai.

Knowing that Madam Teresa is a fellow Thai citizen, Nang spoke to Teresa in Thai, thanking her for passing her milk the other day and saying that she missed home less after talking with her. Teresa appeared deep in thought as Nang and Si walked away. Seems like we will slowly learn of Teresa's past as the story develops, from when she peeked at Nang's father through the door to her shock and unexplainable expression when Nang said she's like a mother to her when she passed the milk to Nang. It appears that Teresa may have a past relationship(?) with Nang's father.
Si explained more of Sai's influence in the school to Nang. Sai wants to be the first in everything. If someone is better than her, she would threaten them until they backed off. If the person does not back off, she would further threaten them. Nang was curious why everyone gave in to her, to which Si mentioned that Sai is pretty, intelligent and has a good family image. Her family had donated tons of money to the school and her mother is a hi-so. Sai was treated as the princess of the school. However in Nang's opinion, her father had taught her that regardless if one is rich or poor or what kind of background the person has, everyone is equal, even Maria with her disability. Si gave a pained expression and burst out crying, to the dismay of Nang. In the toilet alone, Si cried and called out for dad.
Nang, Si, Maria and Honlan visited the music room. It was rumoured to be haunted and students could often hear crying but could not find the source. Adventurous Nang was determined to check the place out, even when her friends refused to accompany her. As the girls looked for Nang, Nang pranked them by pretending to be the lengendary ghost climbing out of the deserted well. Just then, all of them heard the legendary ghostly cries telling them to get out of the place...
